Staff provided all information relating to the budget shortfall and the decision to pursue <br />contract sweeping, contractor evaluation information, and employee reassignments. After the <br />June 7 meeting, staff was notified by SEIU that the meet-and-confer process was completed and <br />that staff could proceed with placing this item for City Council consideration. <br />Quality Control Provisions: <br />Incorporated in the scope of services are checks and balances that will address sweeping quality <br />and performance concerns. In summary they include: <br />Detailed specifications for sweeping quality requiring streets to be swept from curb to curb, as <br />appropriate, multiple times if necessary and to the satisfaction of the Public Works Director. <br />• Constant staffing levels. <br />25H-4
