Be located within an airport land use plan <br />❑ <br />❑ <br />❑ <br />area, or, where such a plan has not been <br />adopted, within two miles of a public airport <br />or public use airport and expose people <br />residing or working in the project area to <br />excessive noise levels? <br />E Be located in the vicinity of private airstrip <br />❑ <br />[] <br />❑ <br />and expose people residing or working in the <br />project area to excessive noise levels? <br />Existing Conditions at Project Site <br />The existing noise - sensitive receivers in the vicinity of the project site include: multi- family <br />residences adjacent to the south, occupants of the St. Edna Subacute & Rehabilitation Center <br />adjacent to the north, single - family residences located to the east across Blueberry Lane, and single - <br />family residences located to the west across Fairview Street. <br />The primary existing noise source in the project area is from traffic noise generated from Fairview <br />Street. Other noise sources in the project vicinity are noises that are typical of residential land uses, <br />such as cars starting up and barking dogs. <br />Five short -term and one long -term attended sound level measurements were conducted on January <br />24, 2012 through January 25, 2012, with a Larson Davis Type 812 sound level meter (short term), <br />which is classified as a Type 1 (precision grade) instrument and a Rion NL -21 sound levels meter, <br />which is classified as a Type 2 instrument. As shown on figure 3 -8, noise was measured at five <br />noise - sensitive locations near the project site and one long -term location on the project site.
