The Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board/Youth Council 2012
Youth Business Network Project (YBNP)
No WRONG -DOOR Policy
The YBNP recognizes that other services providers who currently received WIA funding and
those who do not may also have individuals who will benefit from this project and will have
opportunities to refer clients upon availability and vice versa. Services that are not available via
the YBNP, an effort to seek out to partnering agencies who do offer thein will be made as to not
duplicate services but to maximize current services available. Although the YBNP may not be
the answer for every youth who walks through the door, the YBNP commits to finding the
appropriate placement and resource for them.
After -Care Program
The YBNP objective is to have those who complete the program become part of the creative
team for enhancing current services, building the BN providers database, create a mentorship or
peer-to-peer support system. Those who successfully complete the program will be asked at what
level they will be able to participate in the `after-care' planning because it is a volunteer basis.
However YBNP believes that empowering a group of young individuals to take ownership in
programs and the execution of them will drive them to stay connected.
C.
