Since this property was once owned and farmed by the Sakioka family, the theme for the project is to commemorate the important role of the Japanese - American Immigrant agricultural community in Santa Ana. • Open to all California artists • Commissioning fee is estimated at $70,000 and must include design, fabrication and transportation of the work to the site. Work will be installed by the City of Santa Ana. • Call opens on February 1, 2014 and closes on April 1, 2014. • Submissions will be accepted online only. • Submissions will be reviewed and recommendations made by an expert art judging panel. • Final selection is determined bythe City Council of Santa Ana.
