The Contractor shall perform a complete inspection and service of each <br />signalized intersection once a month, not less than 25 days or more than 35 days <br />apart, for safety, operation and cleanliness. <br />(ii) Maintenance Tasks: <br />• Cabinets: <br />The Contractor shall clean the cabinets thoroughly on the inside, including all <br />components. The Contractor shall remove all unauthorized external <br />attachments such as notices, posters, signs, etc. and notify the City of any <br />graffiti that is on the signal equipment. It is not the Contractor's responsibility <br />to remove the graffiti <br />o Ventilation system: <br />The Contractor shall ensure that the cabinet's ventilation system is in <br />working order. Ensure that the Thermostat and Fan operates <br />properly. The air filter shall be replaced and dated every 90 days <br />(regardless of condition). <br />o Controller and Timing: <br />The Contractor shall check controller timing against the timing sheet <br />and notify the City on any deviation. No timing parameters shall be <br />changed without explicit approval from the City. <br />o Vehicle Detection System: <br />The Contractor shall ensure that the vehicle detection system is fully <br />functional. Maintenance Personnel must be well versed in the use of <br />the different types used by the City. The City utilizes the following <br />types of Detection: <br />• Loop Detection - Detectors needs to be checked that it is <br />properly detecting vehicles and able to apply calls to the <br />controller. The Contractor shall adjust the sensitivity levels to <br />tune out any stuck detectors or replace defective vehicle <br />detector amplifiers as necessary. The Contractor shall meter <br />loops individually when troubleshooting loop problems. The <br />City shall be notified of all defective loops. <br />• Video Detection — The system needs to be inspected to <br />ensure normal operation. All detection zones needs to be <br />checked for proper detection and the systems needs to be <br />verified that it is capable of applying calls to the controller. <br />• Wireless Detection — The City utilizes Sensys Network's <br />Wireless Detection System. The system consists of Sensors, <br />Repeater, Access Point, and Contact Closure Cards. Ensure <br />that the system is fully functional. <br />o Battery Backup System (If applicable): <br />Some intersections are equipped with battery backup system. For <br />these locations, the Contractor shall test and verify that the system is <br />charged and in working order. <br />o Ancillary Equipment: <br />The Contractor shall check all ancillary equipment (load switches, <br />25L -14 <br />
