All records shall be legibly written or printed. These record logs shall become <br />property of the City. <br />(d) Activated In -Road Warning Lights (IRWL or Flashing Crosswalk) and Activated <br />Flashing Beacon: <br />(1) Maintenance period: <br />The Contractor shall perform a complete inspection and service once a month, <br />not less than 25 days or more than 35 days apart, for safety, operation and <br />cleanliness <br />(ii) Tasks: <br />• Cabinets: <br />The cabinets for solar powered flashing beacons are small NEMA cabinet <br />pole mounted at 9'. <br />The Contractor shall clean the cabinets thoroughly on the inside, including all <br />components. The Contractor shall remove all unauthorized external <br />attachments such as notices, posters, signs, etc. and notify the City of any <br />graffiti that is on the signal equipment. It is not the Contractor's responsibility <br />to remove the graffiti <br />The air filter shall be replaced and dated every 90 days (regardless of <br />condition). <br />o Detection System: <br />The Contractor shall ensure that the pedestrian detection system is <br />fully functional. Maintenance Personnel must be well versed in the <br />use of the different types used by the City. The City utilizes the <br />following types of pedestrian detection <br />Push Button Detection <br />Video Detection — The system needs to be inspected to <br />ensure normal operation, All detection zones needs to be <br />checked for proper detection and the systems needs to be <br />verified that It is capable of applying calls to the controller. <br />■ In- Ground Pedestrian Detection (Pressure Pad) — The City <br />utilizes US Traffic Corp, X -FLO in- ground pedestrian detection <br />pad. <br />Battery System: <br />Contractor shall check system operating voltage and battery life. Notify the <br />City if battery needs replacement. <br />• Field Equipment <br />The Contractor shall check all beacons, poles, and standards. <br />The contractor shall check and ensure that push buttons, pressure pads or <br />video detection equipment are in working order. <br />Contractor shall check and notify the City of any missing or damaged traffic <br />signs mounted on the traffic signal poles, <br />25L -17 <br />
