Compensation for extraordinary maintenance of traffic signal system shall be per <br />contracted unit price. Said compensation shall include all labor, material, equipment <br />and overhead/profits. <br />For work not listed in the bid list, compensation shall be based on agreed lump sum <br />price or time and material basis, <br />(1) Materials: The City shall pay the Contractor for materials used in extraordinary <br />maintenance, the Contractor's cost from the supplier plus the percentage <br />specified in the Contractor's bid proposal. All materials and parts shall be new or <br />have the approval of the Traffic Engineer. <br />The City has the right to Inspect the Contractor's records to verify any material <br />costs used in extraordinary maintenance <br />(ii) Direct Labor: The Contractor shall present with his monthly invoice a record of <br />hours spent in extraordinary maintenance of traffic signals and appurtenances <br />per intersection. City shall pay the Contractor for such hours of extraordinary <br />maintenance at the rates specified on the Contractor's bid proposal. Said hourly <br />rates shall be the total cost to City. Rates shall include all compensation for <br />wages, profit, overhead, any fringe benefits such as employer payments to, or on <br />behalf of, work for health and welfare, insurance, worker's compensation, <br />pension, vacation, sick leave or any local, state, federal, or union tax or <br />assessment. <br />(iii) Equipment: City shall pay the Contractor for equipment used in extraordinary <br />maintenance on a job -trip basis rate as specified in the Contractor's bid proposal. <br />The Contractor's job -trip equipment rates shall constitute the rates to be paid by <br />the City when the specified equipment is used for the extraordinary maintenance. <br />As used herein, job -trip shall mean the furnishing of the required equipment at <br />the site of extraordinary maintenance work for the duration of the work. No <br />additional compensation shall be paid for transporting equipment to or from the <br />job site <br />g. Meeting <br />The City may call for meetings to be held with the Contractor, including personnel <br />routinely assigned to work in Santa Ana, on an as needed basis without Incurring <br />additional cost to the City <br />III. STREET LIGHT SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />1. Scope Of Work <br />Contractor shall furnish all tools, equipment, apparatus, facilities, labor, services and <br />materials, and perform all work necessary to maintain street lighting facilities in a good <br />and professional manner in accordance with the specifications contained herein. All <br />said labor, services, materials, and equipment shall be furnished and said work <br />performed and completed by the Contractor as an independent contractor, subject to <br />the inspection and approval of the City's Executive Director of Public Works Agency, <br />or inspectors or their representatives <br />2. Service Personnel <br />The Contractor shall provide qualified service personnel to maintain and to service all <br />series street lights and equipment described in Section 3. Work on the City's series <br />street lighting circuits shall be supervised and performed by a lead street light <br />technician with a minimum of five (5) years experience as a high voltage technician. <br />The technician shall troubleshoot, diagnose and perform all electrical connections. <br />
