IV. Assessment <br />A. Youth Service Providers are required to use the Test for Adult Basic Education <br />(TABE) assessment tool, but may use other assessment tools <br />B. Describe how your program will conduct assessments for youth participants, <br />elaborate on the type of assessment tools or surveys that will be used. <br />C. Describe knowledge of the barriers that youth encounter. <br />D. Specify how your organization will address the barriers that youth encounter. <br />V. Paid & Unpaid Work Experience <br />A. Describe in detail the paid and unpaid work experience opportunities that will be <br />offered to the youth such as: <br />1. Summer employment <br />2. Pre - apprenticeship programs <br />3. Internships or job-shadowing <br />4. On- the -Job training opportunities <br />B. Special consideration will be given to organizations that can prepare youth for <br />targeted in- demand industries as identified in the SAWIB's five year plan: <br />1. Manufacturing <br />2. Healthcare and associated social services <br />3. Hospitality /entertainment <br />4. Green /clean /environment <br />C. Special Consideration for organizations that offer job training /preparation in the <br />industries of: <br />1. Science <br />2. Technology <br />3. Engineering <br />4. The Arts <br />5. Math <br />D. List some of the employers that will assist in the paid and unpaid work experience <br />opportunities. <br />E. Include Letters of Commitment from employers as <br />F. Include a copy of the Work Experience policy as <br />VI. Alternative Secondary School Services <br />A. Describe in detail the alternative secondary school services or dropout recovery <br />services that will be made available for youth. <br />B. Describe in detail the activities that will lead youth to attainment of secondary <br />school diploma or equivalent. <br />C. Special consideration for organizations that offer dropout prevention or dropout <br />recovery services. <br />1901-23 19 <br />
