Agencies can deduct a displaced person's unpaid rent, owed to <br />the agency, from the person's relocation payment in cases where <br />it will not prevent the person from obtaining a comparable <br />replacement dwelling. <br />If storage is necessary during relocation activities, the costs of <br />moving the personal property to and from storage would be <br />eligible for payment. <br />A displaced person is entitled to payment for transportation of <br />personal property, packing, crating, unpacking, and uncrating <br />personal property. <br />A displaced person is entitled to disconnecting, dismantling, <br />removing, reassembling and reinstalling cost for household <br />appliances. <br />A displaced person is entitled to insurance for the replacement <br />value of the property in connection with the move and necessary <br />storage. <br />A displaced person is entitled to the replacement value of <br />property lost, stolen, or damaged in the process of moving where <br />insurance covering such loss, theft, or damage is not reasonably <br />available. . <br />A 180 -day owner - occupant displaced from their dwelling unit is <br />eligible to receive a replacement housing payment up to $22,500. <br />A 90 -day tenant or owner - occupant displaced from a dwelling is <br />entitled to a payment not to exceed $5,250 for rental assistance. <br />No one may be required to move from a residential dwelling <br />unit without one comparable replacement dwelling having been <br />made available to them. <br />An offer of just compensation for a residential dwelling unit may <br />not be less than the amount of the agency's approved appraisal, <br />but may exceed that amount if the agency determines that a <br />greater amount reflects just compensation for the property. <br />The agency shall provide advisory assistance to all displaced <br />persons, concerning negotiations, so that he or she may enter the <br />market as a knowledgeable buyer. <br />IV -47 <br />75C -182 <br />
