the Civil Service Rules and Regulations, or by reemployment from layoff <br />within one (1) year, Leave of absences without pay, as provided in Article <br />X - Other Leaves of Absence, Section 10.1 E - Sick Leave — Extended; <br />Article X — Other Leaves of Absence, Section 10,8 - Authorized Absence <br />Without Pay - Long Term; and Article XXIII — Miscellaneous Provisions, <br />Section 23,3 - Catastrophic Leave, do not constitute a break in continuous <br />service as used in this section; however, the leave of absence period shall <br />not be applied toward the accumulation of vacation, Absences due to <br />military leave followed, by reinstatement, as provided in Section 9.143 of <br />the Civil Service Rules and Regulations, do not constitute a break in <br />service, and the period of absence on such military leave shall be applied <br />toward the accumulation of vacation, <br />G. Vacation Bux Back. <br />Effective July 1, 2015 tIru June 30, 2016, employees covered by this <br />MOU shall be given an option once per fiscal year, to receive cash <br />compensation computed on a straight time basis in lieu of up to a total of <br />one - hundred (100) hours of their banked vacation leave benefits. <br />2. Effective July 1, 2016, employees covered by this MOU shall be given an <br />option once per fiscal year, to receive cash compensation computed on a <br />straight time basis in lieu of up to a total of eighty (80) hours of their <br />banked vacation leave benefits. <br />9.3 Longevity Vacation. <br />A. Longevity vacation accrual shall be operative only through December 31, 2015. <br />Effective January 1, 2016, all employees covered by this MOU shall accrue <br />vacation governed solely by Section 9,2 <br />B. All current and re- employed employees eligible to receive longevity vacation as <br />of October 20, 2010 shall retain rights to both the existing longevity vacation <br />accrual or cash out program operative only through December 31, 2015. <br />Employees employed as of October 20, 2010 who were not yet eligible to <br />received longevity vacation and any employee hired after October 20, 2010 will <br />not obtain any rights to the longevity vacation accrual or cash -out program <br />operative only through December 31, 2015. . <br />C. Each permanent employee is granted additional work days of vacation leave with <br />Pay for each completed year of full -time, continuous city service as set forth in <br />the following table, This additional vacation shall be designated as longevity <br />vacation. <br />39 <br />25A -43 <br />
