10. Workshops <br />The OCLF will provide the following workshops: <br />1. Financial Literacy /Budget Management; Will teach youth the basics of <br />credit. Youth will learn how to build and maintain good credit, <br />understanding credit scores and credit reports, responsible use of credit <br />cards, loans and how to manage debt. Also, the difference between a <br />regular bank and credit unions. <br />2. Entrepreneur Skills Workshop: Youth will learn time management skills, <br />drafting and understanding a business plan, drafting and understanding <br />budgets. <br />3. Labor Market Information: Youth will learn to understand job market <br />trends and future high demand jobs. <br />4. Family Planning: Youth will learn how to understand oneself, effective <br />communication, conflict management and resolution, safe sex, problem <br />solving and relationship skills. <br />5. Worker's Rights /Labor Laws: Youth will learn general employment <br />protection laws and new California laws. <br />6. Analytical Skills at the workplace: Youth will learn their rights and <br />responsibilities that will provide them with decision making skills. <br />7. Health Resources: Youth will be provided with available resources in <br />Orange County. <br />8. Public Speaking Skills: Youth will learn through self- assessment and <br />practice (both small and large group settings) to overcome public <br />speaking fear. <br />11. Civic Engagement /Leadership Development <br />A. The OCLF will offer a civic engagement development opportunity for WIOA and <br />other youth or community members that may be interested. The Civic <br />Leadership initiative is a 10 week course designed to prepare youth and <br />community to understand how government (School, City, County, State & <br />Federal) works. Also included in the course is: how to understand local issues <br />and how to become part of the solution, how to organize others affected by the <br />issue, how to properly communicate with media and why it's important to be an <br />active member of your community. <br />B. All youth will be required to participate. Certification will be given <br />C. Regardless of funding, civic engagement development will be provided to not <br />WIOA and non -WIOA youth. <br />Exhibit A 7 <br />
