ON -GOING COMPLIANCE <br />• Deficiencies that pose an imminent threat to public health or safety must be addressed immediately. <br />BUILDING INTERIOR <br />KITCHEN SINKS. FAUCETS AND GARBAGE DISPOSALS <br />NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS <br />• Compliance with all current codes, standards and ordinances is required. <br />• The use of EPA Water Sense labeled faucets is required. <br />REHAB / ACQUISITION / ON -GOING COMPLIANCE <br />• Compliance with all applicable codes (federal, state, and local) is generally required. Some pre- existing, <br />non - conforming conditions may be allowed as long as required permits were obtained and they meet the <br />minimum standards described below. <br />• The use of EPA Water Sense labeled faucets is required when faucets are being replaced. <br />MINIMUM STANDARDS (REHAB / ACQUISITION / ON -GOING COMPLIANCE) <br />• All sinks, faucets and garbage disposals shall be safe and free of significant defects, damage and <br />deterioration. <br />• Garbage disposals (if present) shall function properly. <br />• All plumbing fixtures and piping shall be leak free. <br />Estimated Remaining Useful Life (ERUL) <br />• Kitchen sinks, faucets and garbage disposals shall have an ERUL of at least five years. <br />• Housing projects consisting of 26 or more units are required to provide a capital needs assessment to <br />ensure that kitchen sinks, faucets and garbage disposals will be maintained during the period of <br />affordability. <br />ON -GOING COMPLIANCE <br />Deficiencies that pose an imminent threat to public health or safety must be addressed immediately. <br />BUILDING INTERIOR <br />KITCHEN APPLIANCES AND FIXTURES <br />NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS <br />• Compliance with all current codes, standards and ordinances is required. <br />• The use of Energy Star labeled appliances is required. <br />REHAB / ACQUISITION / ON -GOING COMPLIANCE <br />• Compliance with all applicable codes (federal, state, and local) is generally required.
