C.3.4 Curbside Bulky Rem Pick-up <br /> The Contractor will be required to provide to all curbside service units curbside <br /> collection of bulky items such as couches, refrigerators, rugs, water heaters, and <br /> other items of solid waste, which Contractor is not required to collect during its <br /> regular weekly routes because of size or weight, as follows: <br /> (a) Upon request by a curbside service unit within the City, Contractor shall <br /> provide no more than two at-demand bulky item collections per year per <br /> curbside service unit at no additional cost. Each such curbside service unit is <br /> limited to a maximum of four (4) bulky items per pick-up request. Such <br /> collection services shall provide the opportunity of having large objects, and <br /> other solid waste which is not required to be picked up to be properly processed. <br /> Requests by curbside service customers for such collections shall be made <br /> directly to the Contractor who shall provide satisfactory telephone message <br /> receiving, transmitting and response procedures and who shall be responsible <br /> for maintaining a log of such large item collections. At demand pick ups shall <br /> be responded to by Contractor within a reasonable time but no more than five <br /> (5) working days after such a request is received. <br /> (b) Contractor shall provide assistance in the removal of bulky items on private <br /> property to senior citizens and the disabled. <br /> C.3.5 Arterial Solid Waste Collection <br /> The Contractor will be required to collect all solid waste placed in City owned solid <br /> waste containers, not including bus shelter solid waste containers, on arterial <br /> streets within the City at least one time per week. Further, it shall be Contractor's <br /> responsibility to collect all solid waste in the area immediately within ten feet of an <br /> identified City owned solid waste container. The City will provide the Contractor <br /> with a list identifying City solid waste containers. The list may be modified from <br /> time to time as deemed necessary by the City, provided, however, that the total <br /> number of City containers from which solid waste is to be collected does not exceed <br /> 200 30-gallon containers during fiscal year 1993-1994. Contractor shall coordinate <br /> collection of such solid waste with the City so as to ensure collection of such solid <br /> waste at the appropriate times for the City. <br /> C.3.6 City Services <br /> City Services shall mean solid waste collection service from City government <br /> operations and City sponsored neighborhood cleanups. <br /> Contractor shall collect, transport, recycle, divert, and dispose of all solid waste <br /> which is generated by City government operations at no charge to the City. The City <br /> shall provide Contractor with a list of locations of bins and/or roll-off boxes from <br /> which such solid waste shall be collected. Said list may be modified by time to time <br /> by the City. Solid waste generated by such City operations shall be collected by <br /> Page 9 <br />
