2. Lowe House <br />Legal notice published in the Orange County Reporter on September 22, 2017 and notices <br />mailed September 21, 2017. <br />Associate Planner Soto provided a presentation which included the history of the property, <br />project description and overview of architectural style. Commissioner Rush recommended <br />to add under description for categorization of Key that Hugh J. Lowe was a prominent <br />person in Santa Ana, owned a men's store in Downtown and was a respected merchant. <br />Chairperson Christy requested staff be consistent in classifications. Helen Norton, <br />applicant, spoke in support of recommended action and requested her home be included <br />in the folder of Allison Honer homes located in the Santa Ana Library. Chairperson Christy <br />opened the public hearing. There were no additional speakers on the matter and the <br />hearing was closed. Commissioner Schaefer requested home be renamed Lowe -Norton <br />House. Chair Christy requested that the trees be trimmed in order to view the home and <br />provide an updated photo.
