Kimley>»Horn <br />Warner Avenue Street Improvements <br />1/10/2018 <br />installing new crossing panels, active cantilever warning signals, and updates to signage and <br />striping in the crossing area. In addition, existing vehicular gates will be replaced to <br />accommodate the widening. The improvements will comply with Federal Railroad Administration <br />(FRA), California Public Utility Commission (CPUC), and California Manual on Uniform Traffic <br />Control Devices (MUTCD) standards. Our team will coordinate with the City, Union Pacific <br />Railroad (UPRR), and CPUC at each stage of the project based on following assumptions. In <br />addition, our team will prepare the draft and final CPUC General Order 88-B and exhibits. <br />Assumptions: <br />• Site Diagnostic Meeting will be held at 5% submittal per CPUC requirements. <br />• Final Diagnostic Meeting will be held after 95% submittal per CPUC requirements. <br />• One round of comments per submittal to CPUC, UPRR and the City. <br />• Design for railroad signal, preemption, and communication will be part of this task. <br />• Railroad signal, preemption, and communication improvements work will be done by <br />UPRR. <br />• Updates to FRA At -Grade Crossing Inventory information are not included in this scope <br />of work. <br />• Pedestrian/bicycle gate assembly is not included in this scope. <br />• Pre -signal and interconnect are not included in this scope of work. <br />• Third party reviews (CPUC and UPRR) are outside the control of the design team and <br />can require 4-6 weeks or more. <br />Deliverables: 30%, 60%, 95%, and 100% Plans, electronic files in Microstation V81 and PDF <br />(final plans will be sealed and signed), and responses to previous review comments from the <br />City, CPUC and UPRR, Final GO-88B and Exhibits for signature. <br />Task 11: Signing and Striping Plans <br />We will prepare striping and signing plans at a scale of 1" = 40' for the proposed improvements <br />within the limits of the project. Striping and signing plans will comply with the City's standards, <br />Caltrans, and the California MUTCD. Flashing beacon installation and parking meter details, if <br />required, will be shown on the striping and signing plans. <br />Deliverables: 30%, 60%, 95%, and 100% Plans, electronic files in Microstation V81 and PDF <br />(final plans will be sealed and signed), and responses to previous review comments from the <br />City <br />Task 12: Landscape and Irrigation Plans <br />The Kimley-Horn team will prepare landscape and irrigation plans for the proposed medians, <br />parkways, and open spaces within the project limits. These plans will be consistent with the <br />City's Standards and General Plan; the City's Scenic Corridor Elements; the City's Urban <br />Design Elements; and California's Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. The plans will consider <br />City maintenance when developing the design. Landscape and irrigation plans will be prepared <br />at a scale of 1" = 20' horizontal. <br />Deliverables: 60%, 95%, and 100% Plans, electronic files in Microstation V61 and PDF (final <br />plans will be sealed and signed), and responses to previous review comments from the City <br />Task 13: Storm Drain Plans <br />We will prepare storm drain plans showing proposed catch basins and lateral connections to the <br />existing main lines. Catch basin sizing, inlet dimensions, and laterals pipe sizes will be <br />5 1 P a g e <br />
