Carter and other Orange County Leaders, I am a resident of Santa Ana and I am outraged that
the other cities in our great county are refusing to assist in the homeless crisis. Like Irvine, Laguna Niguel, and every other city,
our children deserve a safe walk to school. We deserve clean parks and public areas, and we deserve the same consideration for
how the homeless population affects our day-to-day lives. One city should not carry the burden of an entire county. The
homeless are the most vulnerable people in our community. We as a county, state and country must take care of one another or
we will become a third world country. How we take care of the least of these is the measure of our society. We cannot turn
our backs on people in need. Everyone and every city in the county needs to step up and help.
Please represent me and the thousands of other tax -paying, voting, and law-abiding citizens of Santa Ana by showing your
support in this matter.
With gratitude,
Lauren Hawkins
1010
