RESOLUTION N0. 58'297 DECLARING INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL 'ELECTION IN THAT CERTAITd TERRITORY IiEi3EIN DESIGNATED °SULLIVAN AIdD EDINGER A1uNEX° TO S~JBIv?IT THE ~,UE5TION OP' AiVNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO THE ELECTORS RESIDITQG ITQ SAID TERRITORY AND FIXING A DAY ATJD HOUR FOR PROPERTY OlNNERS TO SHOW CAJSE WHY SAID TERRITORY SHOULD iJOT BE ANNEXED WHEREAS, heretofore at the request of residents and property owners within the area hereinbelow described, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted a Resolution No. 58-2L~., consenting to the commencement of proceedings for the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, thereafter the proponents of said annexation published notice of intention to circulate petition for said annexation and filed a copy thereof accompanied by a written statement of reasons therefor, together with the affidavit of publication thereof, and the City Council adopted Resolution No. 58-259 which, among other things, approved cir- culation of a petition in said area for annexation to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, thereafter said petition was circulated and duly f71ed and has now been presented to said City Council, together with the Certificate of the Clerk of the Council and the County Clerk, certifying that said petitions represent more than one-fourth of the oualified electors residing within said territory. NOW, T3EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that a petition, requesting that the territory hereinbelow described be annexed to the City of Santa Ana, has been filed with and received by this Council and that the same is signed by more than one-fourth of the qualified electors residing within said territory; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby declares its intention to call a special election to s ubmit to the electors residing therein the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana, which territory is hereby designated as 'Sullivan and Edinger Annex", an appropriate name by which said territory may be referred to upon the ballots used in said election.
