RESOLUTION NO. 59-15 CALLING A SPECIAL ~JNICIPAL <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD -~N THE 10TH DAY OF MARCH, 1959, <br />TO SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS IN THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />DESIGN_~TED 'tSLKLIVAN AND EDINGER ANNEX" THE QUESTION <br />OF V~ETHER OR NOT SAID TERRITORY SHOULD BE ANNEXED <br />TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, heretofore th~ City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana adopted Resolution No. 58-244, consenting to the commencement <br />of proceedings to annex certain territory to said City, and there- <br />after the proponents of said annexation published notice of intention <br />to circulate petition for said annexation and filed a copy thereof <br />with t he required statement and affidavit of publication with said <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, t he City Council thereafter adopted Resolution 58- <br />259 approving circulation of petition for annexation of said terri- <br />tory to said City, and said petition was duly circulated, filed, <br />examined and presented to the City Council with the required certifi- <br />cate showing that more than one-fo~rth of the qualified electors <br />had signed the same; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 58-297, <br /> <br />declaring its intention to call a special election and fixing <br /> 195 <br />December 29th, at 8 P. M. as the day and hour for owners to show why <br /> <br />said territory should not be annexed and file protests against said <br />election; that at said hour no protest was filed and the protest <br />period and hearing was continued to 5 ~. M., January 8th, 1959, for <br />the filing of protests; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, protests have not been filed by the owners of one- <br />half of the value of said territory so proposed to be annexed. <br /> <br /> NOW, TMEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that protests against the annexa- <br />tion of that certain territory hereinafter designated as "Sullivan <br />and Edio~er Annex" has not been made by the ova~ers of one-half of <br />the value of said territory and said City Council hereby calls a <br /> <br />special municipal election, <br />said territory on the 10th <br />submitting to the electors <br /> <br />and the same is ordered to be held in <br />day of March, 1959, for the purpose of <br />residing in said territory the question <br /> <br /> <br />
