RESOLUTION 68-142 ESTABLISHING A REVISED <br />SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR REFUSE COT.LW. CTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, preparatory to the establishment of direct charges <br />for the collection and disposal of refuse in the city of Santa Ana, <br />the City Council reduced the tax rate for the fiscal year 1965-66 <br />by 13 1/2 cents on each $100.00 of assessed value of property <br />within the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council adopted Ordinance NS-823 <br />which provided for refuse collection regulation and authorized the <br />establishment of charges for the collection and disposal of refuse <br />by resolution; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the rates hereinbelow <br />set out are the rates that shall be due to the City for the <br />collection and disposal of refuse and/or for stand-by or the avail- <br />ability of said service. Said rates shall be added to the rate <br />charged for water service and billed with the bill for water service. <br />Any residential, commercial, or industrial occupancy not served by <br />Santa Ana water service, and any residential, commercial, or <br />industrial occupant of an identifiable separate space but not served <br />by a separate water meter, shall be separately billed for stand-by <br />collection and refuse disposal service. All rates for such service <br />shall be due and payable at the Finance Department in the City Hall <br />on the date of billing therefor and become delinquent 15 days from <br />and after the date of such billing. A penalty of 10% shall be <br />charged on all unpaid bills for such service 30 days from and after <br />the billing date. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the rates to be charged for <br />stand-by collection and refuse disposal service are hereby established <br />in accordance with the schedule hereinafter set out: <br /> <br />REVISED SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION AND STAND-BY <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />The basic rate for each single family residence for each two <br />months, or part thereof, shall be $2.00. <br /> <br />The basic rate for each duplex family residence served by a <br />single water meter for each two months, or part thereof, shall <br />be $3.00. <br /> <br />The basic rate for all triplex family residences served by a <br />single water meter for each two months, or part thereof, shall <br />be $4.00. <br /> <br />Each residential building containing four or more units served <br />by a single water meter shall be considered as a commercial <br />occupancy for the purposes of establishing the charge for <br />refuse collection. <br /> <br />Each commercial and each industrial occupancy, except those <br />which are located in the map area as defined in and regulated <br />by Paragraph No. 6 next hereinbelow set out and any other <br />occupancy not expressly provided for herein shall pay the basic <br />rate of $2.00 for each two month period. Any service beyond <br />once a week pickup with a 200 pound maximum shall be provided <br />only by agreement with City's contractor and paid for by occupant <br />in addition to the basic rate. <br /> <br />The rates for each commercial and industrial occupancy, which <br />shall include each occupancy other than those described in <br />paragraphs numbered 1, 2, and 3, above, which are located in <br />the area shown on the map at page 12 of SPECIFICATIONS - REFUSE <br />COLLECTION SERVICE, JUNE 17, 1963, on file in the office of the <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
