(a) <br /> <br />An annual adjustment of $0.05 per unit per month shall be <br />added to the revised schedule of rates for refuse collection <br />effective May 1, 1974 and each first day of May of each suc- <br />ceeding year. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />In addition to the annual adjustment of $0.05 shown in (a) <br />above, effective November 1, 1974 and on the first day of <br />each November and May of each succeeding year the revised <br />schedule of rates for refuse collection and standby service <br />shall be adjusted to reflect the percentage change in the <br />Consumer's Price Index (1957-59 Base) Los Angeles Area, pub- <br />lished by the United States Department of Labor, as indicated <br />ty the index figure most recently published prior to the first <br />day of June and January preceding each of the above listed <br />days respectively. The adjustment shall be computed by using <br />the figure of 108.0 as equal to 100 and increases or decreases <br />in the schedule of rates for refuse collection and standby <br />service shall be $0.05 per unit per month for each increase <br />or decrease of 5 full percentage points from the base on 108.0. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Neither the annual adjustment nor the adjustment for percentage <br />change in the Consumer's Price Index shall be applied to the <br />container (dumpster) rates. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the charges provided for herein <br />to be collected by the City shall be added to the water bills or <br />separately billed beginning September 1, 1973 and shall thereafter <br />be billed each two months. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~: : day of August, 1973. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
