e) <br /> <br />Index Clerk: The Clerk is assigned to clerical and filing matters. <br />The clerk is called upon to do indexing and processing as a clerical <br />support to the stenographer and analyst positions. <br /> <br />f)¸ <br /> <br />Index Executive Committee: The Index Committee meets once a month, <br />or more frequently if needed, to give assistance to the Project <br />Coordinator and represent the Orange County Narcotics Task Force <br />to the Narcotic Index Staff. The Executive Committee consists of <br />seven (7) officers from representative departments of the Narcotic <br />Task Force and assists in determining the priorttie~ of the Index. <br /> <br />Employee Benefits: Employee benefits are based upon existing standard <br />salary overrides currently 'in effect within the City of Santa Aha and ' <br />used in the computation of the annual budget, as accepted and approved <br />by the City's City Council. (See Chart Page 6a). <br /> <br />a) Vacation: Computed a~:weekly salary times three (3) weeks. Current <br /> City of Santa Ana benefits are fifteen (15) working days vacation. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Holiday and Sipk Leave: These benefits are included within salary. <br />Current City of Santa Aha benefSts are nine (9) holidays and twelve <br />(12) sick leave days per year. There is a 180 day limit accrual on <br />sick leave and no accrual on holidays. <br /> <br />B.' Professional Services: $1,000.00 <br /> <br />Upon purchase of a Bloodhound Mobile Tracker, a representative of the <br />manufacturer (Wackenhut Electronics) will conduct a 40-Hour Training Seminar <br />at a site provided by the purchaser. Operator training is very important <br />to the successful use of the equipment. The training provided will include <br />classroom and simulated cases. At lease one representative from each of the <br />23 law enforcement agencies in Orange County would attend this training and in <br />turn train their Task Force counterparts. Cost of the seminar is $1,000.00. <br /> <br />C. Travel (Transportation and Subsistance) - $2,000.00 <br /> <br />Travel Expenses - $2,000.00: Funds allocated for travel will be used for <br />the project coordinator, analyst, and the seven member Index Executive <br />Committee. Included within the travel fund are expenses for transportation <br />to and from Narcotic Seminars and Conventions, also expenses incurred <br />in attending loca~ liaison meetings. During this final grant period, it <br />is the intention of the Index Coordinator, Analyst, and Committee Members <br />to visit th9 other M.E.G. (Metropolitan Enforcement Groups) throughout <br />the region. The object;ot~these visits is to exchange operational <br />procedures information which will result in showing areas in which the <br />Index can improve its performance. It has been the experience of the <br />Orange County Narcotic .~ndex that a good rapport must be maintained among <br />narcotic officers throughout the state. This rapport is essential in the <br />exchange of intelligence information. The narcotic violator knows no Jurisdic - <br />tional boundaries and therefore, the most effective means of apprehending the <br /> <br />9a <br /> <br /> <br />
