<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING
<br />RESOLUTIONS 58-281, 74-162, 77-84 AND 79-36, EACH AS AMENDED, TO
<br />CONVERT A PREVIOUSLY-GRANTED EMPLOYEE BENEFIT IMPROVEMENT TO A SALARY
<br />RANGE ADJUSTMENT FOR CERTAIN CLASSES OF EMPLOYMENT LISTED IN SAID
<br />RESOLUTIONS
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, on October 16, 1978, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha approved
<br />memoranda ofanderstanding between the City of Santa Ana and recognized employee group
<br />representatives thereby granting certain employee benefit improvements during Fiscal
<br />Year 1978-79; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council further approved the extension of said benefit improvements
<br />to unrepresented executive management and middle-management employees; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, included among the benefit improvements referred to above, is a retirement
<br />contributions reimbursement program whereby the City has reimbursed retirement contri-
<br />butions paid by affected employees to the Public Employees' Retirement System in an
<br />amount equal to five percent (5%) times the compensation upon which such retirement
<br />contributions are calculated; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the terms and conditions of said agreements between the
<br />City and its recognized employee groups, the City's obligation to make such reimburse-
<br />ments shall cease as of Jane 30, 1979 and, as a substitute therefor, the base salary
<br />range of each affected employee shall be automatically increased by five percent (5%)
<br />over and above current base salary.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha:
<br />
<br /> 1. That Resolutions 58-281 and 74-162, each as amended, are hereby further amended
<br />by increasing, effective July 1, 1979, the salary range numbers assigned to each of the
<br />class titles listed in said Resolutions by ten (10) range numbers so that, for instance,
<br />Salary Range No. 400 will be increased to Salary Range No. 410.
<br />
<br />2. That Resolution No. 79-36, as amended, is hereby further amended by:
<br />
<br /> a. Deleting, effective July 1, 1979, the provision added by Resolution No.
<br />79-52 which caused the City ofSanta Ana to reimburse retirement contributions paid by
<br />the City Manager to the Public Employees' Retirement System during the period March i,
<br />1979 through Jane 30, 1979, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) times the compensation
<br />upon which such retirement contributions are calculated.
<br />
<br /> b. Changing the salary fixed and established for the Office of the City Manager
<br />from Three Thousand Five Hundred and Eighty-Three Dollars ($3,583.00) per month to Three
<br />Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars ($3,762.00) per month.
<br />
<br />3. That Resolution No. 77-84, as amended, is hereby further amended by:
<br />
<br /> a. Deleting, effective July 1, 1979, the provision added .by Resolution No. 79-39
<br />which caused the City of Santa Ana to reimburse retirement contributions paid by the City
<br />Attorney to the Public Employees' Retirement System during the period January 1, 1979
<br />through June 30, 1979, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) times the compensation
<br />upon which such retirement contributions are calculated.
<br />
<br /> b. Changing the salary fixed and established for the Office of the City Attorney
<br />from Three Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Dollars ($3,520.00) to Three Thousand Six Hundred
<br />Ninety-Six Dollars ($3,696.00) per month.
<br />
<br />4. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after July 1, 1979.
<br />
