RESOLUTION NO. 57-280 PROHIBITING PARKING AND STOPPING <br />ON PORTIONS OF MAIN STRW..W.T BEGINNING AT FIRST STREET <br />THROUGH NINTH STREET DURING CERTAIN HOURS, ESTABLISHING <br />ONE HOUR AS THE MAXIMUM PARKING PERIOD AND CREATING A <br />LOADING ZONE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 4, 1957 the City Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 57-277, which said Resolution, among other things, prohibited all <br />stopping or standing on portions of Main Street between First Street <br />and Ninth Street, abolished the one hour parking limit, and abolished <br />all limited or special parking provisions in said area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after further study and public hearing the City Council <br />has determined that the parking prohibition in said area should be <br />limited to the hours between 10 A.M. and 9 P.M. of each day, the <br />period during which peak traffic volumes exist; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 57-277 is <br />hereby amended in those respects in ~ich this Resolution is incon- <br />sistent with the terms of said Resolution, as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) No person shall s top a~y vehicle on either side of Main <br />Street, from the north curb-line of First Street to the south curb- <br />line of Ninth Street between the hours of 10~ A.M. and 9 P.M. of any <br />day, except on the east side between Fifth Street and Sixth Street, <br />and except that buses may stop in marked loading sones to load and <br />unload passengers. Amy vehicle parked in violation of this provision <br />is hereby declared to be an obstruction to traffic, as defined in <br />Section 585.2 of the Cal ifo~nia Vehicle Code, and such vehicle shall be <br />towed away in the manner and under the provisions of said Vehicle Code, <br /> <br /> (2) No operator shall stop my vehicle a~ leave the same parked <br />on the east side of Main Street between Fifth Street and Sixth Street <br />without complying with all of the regulations, requirements and pro- <br />hibitions contained in Chapter 3 of Article III of the Sa~ ta Aha Muni- <br />cipal Code governing parking meters and no vehicle so parked shall be <br />left continuously in the same parking stall for a period longer than <br />one hour during those times specified in Section 3307 of said Code dur- <br />ing which the provisions relating to the operation of parking meters <br />are declared to be effective. <br /> <br /> (3) No operator shall stop any vehicle and leave the same parked <br /> <br /> <br />
