RESOLUTION N0.79-163 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE OFFICE OF <br />CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1979~ <br />AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 9, 1979, the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana approved memoranda of understanding between <br />the City of Santa Ana and its recognized employee associations; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 24, 1979, the City Council further <br />approved compensation adjustments for unrepresented executive <br />and middle management employees, with certain exceptions <br />which included the City Manager; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council intended, and now intends, to <br />adjust the salary and to continue and to add to certain <br />employee benefits applicable to the Office of the City Manager, <br />hereinbelow specified, effective from and after July 1, <br />1979. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Santa Aha: <br /> <br /> 1. That the salary for the Office of the City Manager <br />of the City of Santa Aha is hereby fixed and established at <br />$4104.00 per month. <br /> <br /> 2. That said salary shall be paid in the same manner <br />and at the same times as other monthly salaries in the City <br />are paid, and shall take effect and be paid from and after <br />July 1, 1979. <br /> <br /> 3. That the City shall pay to the Public Employees' <br />Retirement System on behalf of the City Manager an amount <br />equal to five percent (5.0%) times the compensation upon <br />which such retirement contributions are calculated. Such <br />payments are not an increase in base salary. <br /> <br /> 4. In addition to the salary hereinabove fixed and <br />established for said office, said officer shall receive, as <br />additional compensation, the following employee benefits: <br /> <br />(a) Deferred Compensation <br /> <br /> Said officer shall receive as deferred compensation <br />an amount equal to one percent (1%) of his or her monthly <br />salary. The amounts contributed by the City under this pro- <br />vision shall be subject further to the conditions that: <br /> <br /> i. Said officer shall not have any vested <br />right in the amounts contributed by the City until termina- <br />tion of employment with City; <br /> <br /> ii. City will pay the total amount of contri- <br />butions plus any earnings thereon to said officer upon ter- <br />mination, resignation, retirement, dismissal or death. <br /> <br />(b) Nealth Insurance <br /> <br /> The City will contribute the following amounts <br />toward the payment of the premiums for said officer and <br />dependents, if applicable, under the existing health insurance <br />program (or a new program providing substantially similar <br />coverage and benefits): <br /> <br /> i. If the officer aforesaid does not have <br />dependents included under the program, one hundred percent <br />(100%) of the premiums. <br /> <br /> ii. If the officer aforesaid has dependents <br />included under the program, an amount equal to ninety percent <br />(90%) of the total premium applicable to the "family plan" <br />covering said officer and his or her dependents. <br /> <br /> <br />
