Overtime - Not les~ than one and one-half (1 1/2) times <br />the above rates° <br /> <br /> Sundays and holidays (except watchm~n, guards and flag~ <br />men) not less than one and one°half (1 1/2) times the above <br />rates° <br /> <br /> The foregoing prevailing w~ge schedules are based upon <br />a working day of eight ~8) hours, and in the event that <br />laborers, workmen or mechanics ~re employed less than eight <br />(8) ho~rs per d ay~ the rate o£ ~,er diem wages shall be deemed <br />to be that fraction of the foregoin~ rates that the number of <br />hours o£ employment beare to eib:bt <br /> <br /> In accordance wlth the provisions of Section 1777~5 of <br />the Labor Code ~s amended by Ch~pte~ 971, Statutes of 1939, <br />and in accordance with t~e re!~u~at~ons of the Cal~forula <br />Apprenticeship council, properly indentured apprentices may <br />be emnloyed in the prosecution of the work° <br /> <br /> The bidder ~nust sub~it with his proposal a satisfactory <br />check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order <br />of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond, for an amount <br />not less than t~n (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the <br />bid, as a ~uaman~ee that th~m bidder will enter into the otc- <br />posed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of <br />fatlu~.e to enter into such contract said check or bond shall <br />become the proporty of the City. <br /> <br /> ~%e amount of the bond to be ~fven to secure a faithful <br />performance of t~e contract for ~aid work shall be fifty (50) <br />per cent of the contract orlon th,reof, and an additional bond <br />in an amount equal to fi~Jty (50) per cent of the contract price <br />for said work shall be given to :~ecure the pa~ent of claims <br />for any materials or sup~lies fu~nish~d fo~ the performance <br />of the work contracted to b~ done by the Contractor, or any <br />work or labor of any kind dena thereon, and the Contractor will <br />also be re,uired to furnish a cemtificate that he carries com~ <br />pensation insura[~ce cove~ln~ his employees upon work to be <br />done under contract which may be entered into between him and <br />the said City for the construction of said work. <br /> <br /> No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not <br />licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's <br />License Act, or to whom a prooosal form has not been issued <br />by the City Engineer.. <br /> <br /> The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, <br />plans and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in <br />the office of the City Engineer, Mppm 201, of the City Hall <br />of Santa Aha, California. Copies of the plans and specifica- <br />hions will be furnished upon application to the City Engineer <br />for which a charge of Six dollars will be required. <br />The charge will not be~e'fun~ed.'' <br /> <br /> <br />
