Any-officer holding the rank of <br />Police Sergeant in the Santa Ana Police Department, regardless of duty assignment, <br />who fulfills the requirements established in this section shall be designated as <br />a Senior Police Sergeant I and shall be paid an additional seven and one-half <br />percent (7.5%) (15 salary rate ranges) above his or her then current base monthly <br />salary step. The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Completion of five (5) years of municipal police experience. <br /> <br />B. Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty (60) educational and/or <br />training units. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Section 3.2.8. Senior Police Sergeant II. Any officer holdin9 the rank of <br />Police Sergeant in the santa Ana Police Department, regardless of d~ty assignment, <br />who fulfills the requirements established in this section shall be ~esignated as a <br />Senior Police Sergeant II and shall be paid an additional ten percent (10%) <br />(20 salary rate ranges) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br />The criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. Completion of eight (8) years of municipal police experience and attain- <br />ment of uEu step of the base salary rate range for the Police Sergeant classification. <br /> <br />B. Completion (acquisition) of at least ninety (90) educational and/or <br />training units; or possession of an Associate of Arts academic degree from an <br />accredited college with an additional thirty (30) or more education or training units. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Section 3.2.9 <br /> <br />Administrative Guidelines. <br /> <br />An individual authorized an increase in pay as a result of any provision of the <br />police Career Development Program set out in this Section cannot also receive any <br />Special Compenation differential set forth in Section 3.1 of this Resolution except <br />Bilingual Pay. <br /> <br />Section 3.3 <br /> <br />FIRE SCIENCE EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM. <br /> <br />Section 3.3.1 Personnel in the classification of Firefighter II who have <br />successfully completed their probationary period with the Santa Ana Fire Department <br />and personnel in the classifications of Fire Engineer, Fire Inspector, Fire Invest- <br />igator I and II, and Fire Captain will be paid an educational incentive allowance <br />in the amounts and in accordance with criteria set forth below. <br /> <br />A. All permanent personnel employed in one of the classes listed above <br />on or before August 9,1979, who possess an Associate of Arts Degree, or 60 college <br />semester units (or equivalent quarter units), with major coursework _in Fi~e &cience <br />or other job-related areas from an accredited college or colleges, regardless of <br />when such courses were completed, will receive a monthly allowance in an amount <br />equal to the product obtained by multiplying the top (UEU) step rate then assigned <br />to the class of Firefighter II by two and one-half percent (2.5%) (five (5) salary <br />rate ranges). <br /> <br />-14- <br />
